Business Plan Capabilities Building Workshops for a Regional Ministry of Housing and Construction
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE
A regional Ministry of Housing and Construction required a structured training and capability-building program to enhance the strategic and operational knowledge of its key executives and staff. The objective was to provide training, guidelines, templates, and development opportunities that would enable ministry officials to design, implement, and evaluate business plans effectively. The initiative aimed to address organizational challenges, improve decision-making capabilities, and support sustainable development in the housing and construction sector.
PROJECT APPROACH
The project began with engagement sessions to understand the ministry’s specific requirements, challenges, and areas for improvement. Based on these insights, customized training materials, workshops, and guiding manuals were developed to address capability gaps. The team delivered structured training sessions and practical implementation tools, ensuring that ministry staff could apply best practices effectively. A post-training review and evaluation process was conducted to assess outcomes, gather feedback, and recommend adjustments for long-term sustainability.
OUR METHODOLOGY
A comprehensive methodology was applied, leveraging business plan formats to standardize documentation and strategy development. A Business Plan Guidebook was created to serve as a reference for future planning and execution. An engagement framework was developed to facilitate active participation and knowledge transfer during workshops. The training sessions were supported by workshop design and delivery models, ensuring interactive learning experiences. The program also included training delivery follow-ups, allowing for continuous improvement and assessment of impact.
THE RESULTS
The initiative successfully defined the ministry’s requirements based on identified challenges and development areas. A customized capability-building program was designed, aligning training content with the ministry’s strategic needs. The program was effectively delivered and evaluated, ensuring that ministry officials gained the necessary skills and knowledge to apply best practices in business planning. The project also included a follow-up assessment, ensuring the training’s long-term relevance and effectiveness.
