Development of a 5-Year Strategy, Strategic Initiatives, and Strategy Implementation Office for a Middle Eastern Construction Company
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE
A major construction company in the Middle East sought to redefine its strategic direction, improve organizational efficiency, and establish key partnerships with international construction firms. The company required a five-year strategy roadmap, a performance management system, and a structured approach to partnership development. The objective was to conduct an entity-wide assessment, define strategic initiatives, and establish a strategy implementation office to oversee execution.
PROJECT APPROACH
The project followed a three-phase structured approach. The first phase involved a comprehensive diagnosis of the company’s activities, assets, and departmental efficiency. A new organizational structure and service/product focus were designed to align with industry best practices and international standards. The second phase focused on developing the company’s vision, mission, and a five-year strategy, including an investment plan and partnership roadmap. A performance management system was created to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure that strategic objectives were measurable. The final phase centered on implementing the strategic roadmap, establishing a strategy implementation office, and initiating discussions with international partners for collaboration.
OUR METHODOLOGY
A range of analytical and strategic tools was applied to drive transformation. Organization Review and Analysis was conducted to assess existing inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Internal and external benchmarking provided insights into industry best practices and competitive positioning. Financial scenario planning and investment modeling were utilized to ensure the feasibility of growth initiatives. Lastly, implementation planning methodologies were used to track the execution of strategic initiatives and facilitate the transition from planning to operational execution.
THE RESULTS
The project successfully delivered a comprehensive entity and departmental assessment, which led to the development of a five-year strategy map and strategic objectives. The partnership model and strategic plan were presented and approved by key government stakeholders, paving the way for collaboration with international construction firms. The company identified potential partners and initiated discussions for future joint ventures. A strategy implementation office was established, ensuring a structured execution of the strategic roadmap and performance management framework.
